High North Cooperation – sivilt beredskapssamarbeid i nord
High North Cooperation er et sivilt beredskapssamarbeid i de to nordligste regionene i Finland, Sverige og Norge. Målet med dette unike samarbeidet er å styrke og utvide samarbeidet på tvers av landegrensene. Derfor utveksler vi informasjon og erfaringer, identifiserer felles risikoer, organiserer felles øvelser og trener sammen.
Dagens geopolitiske situasjon i nordområdene viser at tett samarbeid nå er mer nødvendig enn noen gang, og inkluderingen av alle nasjoner i NATO har ytterligere styrket samarbeidet og fremhevet nødvendigheten av å samarbeide. Sammen møter vi kriser sterkere.
Authorities from Northern Finland, Northern Sweden, and Northern Norway have tested their communication capabilities for critical scenarios. Secure communication networks used by the authorities were most recently tested on Tuesday 10 December. A total of 20 organizations from Nordic regions participated in the exercise.
The civil preparedness efforts in the two northernmost regions of Finland, Sweden, and Norway are united under the High North Cooperation. We have now launched a new website for this cooperation. The site serves as a central hub for information about the High North Cooperation, providing the latest news and contact details.
On November 28, the Nordic ministers responsible for civil protection and emergency preparedness met in Oslo. In the meeting the ministers agreed on strengthened Nordic civil-military cooperation.
